Bio

Rex boasts over 16 years of experience in both playing and coaching 16 the high school, collegiate, and professional levels. Most recently, he spent time playing in Europe (Slovenia and Austria), where he was crowned the Home Run Derby Champion at FinkstonBall 2024. He also spent a season in the SEBL (Southern Shores Baseball League), setting a new in-game RBI record with 7 RBIs in one game. Prior to that, he also had 2 individual stints within the Pecos League (Austin Weirdos ’23’, White Sands Pupfish/Garden City Wind ”18’). His professional experience also includes numerous showcase-style tryouts with the MLB, Frontier, and Atlantic Leagues. He received a D1 scholarship to Maryland Eastern Shore coming out of high school, but ended up settling at powerhouse Kutztown University, before finally ending up at the College of Southern Maryland.

He prides himself on teaching younger developing players the importance of understanding both the physical and psychological aspects of the game, more specifically, the art of hitting. He prioritizes swing design, approach establishment, barrel consistency, power development, pitch recognition, and mental toughness, along with many others.

“I never want to stop learning. I am always going to be a student of the game and a kid at heart when it comes to the game of baseball. I am grateful to have made it to this point in my career and to have this kind of opportunity to share my playing experiences with other really sharp coaches. It is exciting to be around these enthusiastic players on a day-to-day basis. My goal is to come to work every day ready to compete to help them get to the next level.”

Rex is also a Certified Strength Coach with ISSA and has extensive experience in developing athletes to the highest capabilities via the weight room.
